In 2023, the Institute of Art History (IAH) of the Latvian Academy of Art published a new, extensive monograph by Dr. art. Vijas Strupule, Decorative Painting in Riga Interiors: 16th Century — Third Quarter of the 18th Century (408 pages), which is part of the monograph series “Dissertations of the Institute of Art History of the Latvian Academy of Art”, established by IAH, as VII, the latest edition. Seven years have passed since the defence of doctoral thesis by Dr. art. Vijas Strupule (16.09.2016), which has allowed her to get even deeper into the topic of the study and significantly enrich the research with high-quality, diverse, carefully selected, and updated illustrative material — a total of 226 images. The main text of the monograph is complemented by a wide scientific apparatus: a list of used literature (a selection), a dictionary of terms, an index of persons, an index of places, buildings, and addresses, a list of figure legends (in Latvian, English, and German), summaries (in English and German). The following appendices have a significant newly created scientific value: the chronological table of the activities of Riga painters, the chronological review of the works of master Cord Meyer.
