The article examines the monograph The Great Denier by Arnis Koroševskis, which is dedicated to the 20th century Latvian literary classic Andrejs Upīts. In it, in addition to his contribution to culture, the author has examined the writer’s socio-political activity, his activities during the Red regime government of Pēteris Stučka, collaborationism while cooperating with the Soviet power, which in the case of Upīts was rewarded with a special status, government awards, and huge editions of books in the languages of “fraternal” Soviet nations. The monograph is published in the “I am…” series, addressed to a wide range of readers, while also satisfying scientific interests. The work won the readers’ award of the internet portal at the “LALIGABA 2023” annual award ceremony of the Latvian literature.
