Heidegger in colour

Keywords: Martin Heidegger, Lorenz Jäger, biography
Language: In Latvian

The author of the article focuses on the voluminous and source-based book by Germanist Lorenz Jäger, published in 2021, which is dedicated to the biography of the German philosopher Martin Heidegger. Since Rüdiger Safranski’s book, A Master from Germany. Heidegger and his Time, no one has approached the big picture of Heidegger’s life. That is why Lorenz Jäger’s work is really in place — it tells a version of Heidegger’s life and his epoch that incorporates certain stages and events of life in a larger whole, and moreover, this is in the light of the discussions and disputes of recent years over Heidegger’s person and thoughts, his actions during the turn of the century, and the responsibility of a thinker.
