After the communist reoccupation in 1944, the people of Latvia and its Church had to choose an attitude towards it — collaboration, betrayal, or resistance. The article pays special attention to the theological motives of the clergy’s actions as partisan supporters and analysis thereof. The biblical worldview is fundamentally opposite and incompatible with the communist one, which also determined the decision of some brave clergymen to help the national partisan movement in various ways.
