Jouko Talonen is a Professor emeritus of the Faculty of Theology, University of Helsinki. He has been awarded Dr. theol. at the University of Helsinki (1989) and Dr. phil. at the University of Oulu (1997). Scientific interests: revival movements (especially Laestadianism), church and politics, history of Baltic church.
